Future of the game

How’s everyone doing? I wanted to put out some stuff about the game.
First of all, thank you all for giving it a chance. When I started this back in March of 23, I thought it would be a tiny little thing that would go nowhere. Now, 4000 downloads, 14.7K views. Damn, thanks y’all.

Anyway, regarding the future of the project. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to work on the game much in the past few months. Being in the navy, schedules are written in sand and everything is shifting. This past deployment was worse than the others and really sapped my motivation to write and draw. While last time, I was able to write five endings and still had time for more, I was only able to get one out, and it needs the art for it work as intended. That being said, now that we’re back, work can resume, but it’ll be slow.  This in-port period is shorter than most, and I have some personal things going on that may or may not stop work again. Long story short, life is life.

I also re-assessed goals of the game.  At first is was just gonna be a few short stories and that’s it. Then I learned you could have art in Twine. AI is out of the question, so I got a tablet and started making art. Then I discovered you can add sound! So I’ve been collecting sound clips and got Audacity for than side mission, and oh, let me add more stories while I wait for laundry to dry (that will need art and audio as well.) And I want female endings for the hetros! They need ten endings too!
In other words, Scope Creep is a bitch. What started as a small project to prove I can made something artist ballooned into a full time passion project. So, I’m scaling it down and setting measurable goals:
-Finish art for the written endings
-4 more endings for the female character paths
-Experiment with audio, and if it works, add audio to each path

Finally, I will finish this game. There’s too many projects out there that had so much potential and just stopped for one reason or another. I’m not letting that happen (especially having this project to work on has been a huge boost to my mental health. Who would have thought having hobbies would be good for you?)

Thanks for sticking around, I really appreciate it.
