Cancellation of the The Station

TL, TD:  I’m burnt out and putting the game on indefinite hold, probably ending the project as a whole.

Oof, been a while since I’ve made a post like this. I’ll get straight to the point, over the past two months, I’ve been struggling to make progress on The Station due to a myriad of reasons. Work stress, other projects, and my own struggles with making content.  Ultimately, it’s led to each day thinking, “wow, you suck at this whole artist thing” even though I know I’ve made a lot of progress since I first started. When I made the game playable on mobile, I had to upload all the art for game to a file hosting site and really got to see just how much I’ve improved (it’s not great, but still.)  The problem is, 334 images have been made for the game... There’s ~850 passages. To call the game complete, I still need to make another 500. In the past two months, I’ve made 14, and seeing that is just so... Demoralizing.

Problem is, I’ve grown to love making art, making content. When this game started, it was barely 5000 words and a collection of abstract images. Now, it’s 61,000 and has [some] art that I’m actually proud of. I can’t risk letting that love fizzle out because I keep bashing my fist against a wall that’s been there for quite some time...

I’m shifting my focus to just getting better at art. Studies, learning programs,  Actually learning how to sketch (just been skipping that part). I’ll try to post stuff over on my FA, but for now, consider the game dead.

Again, this isn’t a decision I take lightly. I’ve been struggling with it for months now, and I’m finally taking the L. Sorry I can’t keep up.
